Connecting with BroadVoice

BroadVoice (http://www.broadvoice.com ) offers telephone service using the VoIP standard SIP. The service allow users making/receiving VoIP calls to/from VoIP telephone numbers and making VoIP calls to PSTN telephone numbers. This document will explain how to utilize Brekeke PBX with BroadVoice. BroadVoice also provides local (US) and wireless local (US) number portability which includes 25 free Basic and Advanced features.

Setting Up a BroadVoice Account

Please obtain an account from BroadVoice website.

ARS Configuration for BroadVoice

To define ARS settings for your BroadVoice account:

• Brekeke PBX v3.1
  

  Click BroadVoice from  [ARS] menu in Brekeke PBX Admintool, then click on [New Route] button and set

  [Route Name] 6502270001 or any other name
  [Password] XXXX
  [PSTN Number/DID Number] 6502270001
  [Forward Extension Number]1001(ex)
  [User Class] Brekeke PBX user extensions whose class setting is the same class as that set in this field can make outbound calls through this ARS route

• Brekeke PBX v3.0 and earlier
  

  Open BroadVoice > [ARS] menu > [Settings] in the PBX Admintool, Once the page displays, click on the “Edit Variables” and enter the information for each variable.

  1. Enter the user ID that your received from ITSP Provider for the "v1": 6502270001(ex)
  2. Enter the password for the "v2(Password)":XXXX(ex)
  3. Enter the PBX Extension number for receiving incoming calls "v3":1001(ex)
  4. Click on [Save And Update] button.
  5. Go back to Route Template page. Uncheck [disabled] button in General setting.
  6. Click on [Save And Update] button.

How to Make Calls

• Incoming call: Calling from PSTN phone number in the US to Brekeke PBX extension 1001.
  Dial as: 6502270001 or 16502270001
• Outgoing Call: Calling from Brekeke PBX extension to a PSTN number in the US.
  Dial as: 9 + area code(if different from DID number) + landline number
  (Here: 9 is the prefix you defined at Brekeke PBX ARS.)
